I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years' experience counseling individuals of all age ranges. Throughout my career as a social worker, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, residential addiction treatment centers and crisis stabilization with children/families; public, private and voluntary sectors. I also worked abroad (UK) for 2 years where I gained meaningful experience working with a variety of cultures.
I am Bilingual (English/Spanish) and, as such, recognize the importance of being culturally aware. I currently live in Florida with my husband and our dog Charlie Blue. I'm also an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University assisting social work graduate students when translating theory into practice.
I have always been drawn to humanistic models of therapy that focus on a collaborative relationship based on real interactions, and unconditional positive regard. I believe that my relationships with clients can be healing, and that effective interventions start with a genuine human connection.
I look forward to hearing from you!
